Things Aren’t What They Seem

The devil knows that if he can get you to believe a lie, he can limit you from living the life God intends for you. Take the Garden of Eden and the beginning of time for example.

The first words God spoke to man define you!

He declared that man is made in His image and after His likeness. And then He said to have dominion, be fruitful and multiply, and subdue the earth (Genesis 1:26-28). The only restriction God spoke to Adam was to not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

After some time, the devil came in the form of a snake. He deceived Eve and then Adam, tempting them with something they already had — the knowledge of good. What they got instead was something they knew nothing about — the knowledge of evil.

The devil used deception against Adam and Eve, and he continually uses deception against you!

This is important concerning the prayer you speak out every day. The devil attempts to put thoughts in your mind that your prayers are meaningless and are without power to change your culture or change your city — this is an attempt to get you to stop praying.

The following verse is God’s promise to you, because the prayer is full of His words:

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)

This verse is out of the Old Testament, but you live in the New Testament. This means that you have authority to speak God’s Word, and doing so, you are unleashing His power to change your city.

Remember:

Things are not what they seem!

Your prayers are changing your city.
